Director

Padmini Sirish first demonstrated her innate talent for dance as a toddler when she began moving gracefully every time she heard classical music. Structured nurturing of her talent began at age four-and-a-half, under Guru Narmada and three years later, she performed her Arangetrum.

Padmini has won many scholarships including the coveted Cultural Talent Search Scholarship awarded by the Govt. of India followed by scholarship from the Human Resources and Development Ministry, Govt. of India. She has performed to critical acclaim in India and the USA in various multicultural festivals including Rasa Sanje, Natyanjali, Crocker Arts Gala, Hungarian Connection Gala, and the World Dance Alliance NRI Festival to name a few.

Padmini’s passion for dance is equally matched with her passion for scientific research. After securing First rank and Gold Medal in MSc from Bangalore University, she continued her academic pursuits in the US and has obtained a PhD in Molecular, Cellular and Integrative Physiology from University of California, Davis. Her inner quest to continue to grow within as an artist has helped Padmini find a balance between science and pursuit of Bharatanatyam.
